Exhibition view ‘Rituals of the Everyday’, 1 (2024-03-05)Collegium
Time, gestures and rituals
This exhibition aims to explore the embeddedness of different notions of time—archaeological, ecological and colonial. Through poetic and concrete gestures, artists explore questions about how we understand the contemporary world through past lives
Site-specific installations: Lais Myrrha
With Política de Varanda, Myrrha merges modernist patterns by Athos Bulcão with the 16th-century Spanish chapel's arches at Iglesia de San Martín. Using industrial materials, she blends Oscar Niemeyer's Brasilia with historical Spanish architecture.
Site-specific installations: Koushna Navabi
In 2023, Navabi launched Artists for Woman Life Freedom to honor Mahsa Jina Amini and advocate for Iranian women's rights. Alongside other artists, Navabi created posters with the slogan 'Woman, Life, Freedom,' displayed several different cities and now Arévalo.
