Douglas MaCartney and Glasgow Caledonian University
The Flat Pack Wind Turbine invented by Douglas MaCartney, a secondary 15 year old school pupil, answering the question – ‘If you were an engineer what would you do?’.
The turbine was built by engineers from Glasgow Caledonian University.

Maisie Crook and Kingston University
Maisie Crook, 7 years old, saw the issues of drought and proposed a solution that the engineers at Kingstone University saw as a viable idea to build while inspiring others in the process.
The competition is open to all UK pupils between the ages of 3 and 19.
Data will lead the way and it is vital that young people are enabled by the wealth of data at our fingertips. STATWARS Climate Change Challenge asks young people to use data to identify three things they can personally change in their daily lives.

The Solution
Learning and competition we do at all ages, it drives us to identify the things that will change our sphere of influence, impacting on our energy usage, recycling, and waste. The result will enable changes that industry and society need to meet the interface with the consumer.

Climate change affects us all. All over the world determined people are working hard to find solutions to environmental and energy challenges, locally and globally.
Inclusion, diversity, inspiring the next generation and engaging people from all backgrounds is crucial to success.
