The FUNDOS Fine Arts Collection
The FUNDOS Fine Arts Collection is the result of the acquisition and patronage efforts of the former provincial savings banks of Castilla y León and the entity into which they ultimately merged, Caja España. This has shaped the collection into an irregular and heterogeneous ensemble.

It comprises a wide variety of materials and mediums, including painting, sculpture, and graphic works. While the bulk of the collection dates from the 19th and 20th centuries, it also contains several pieces from earlier centuries, dating as far back as the 15th century.

The collection holds works by many of the most notable artists in Spanish art history. Among them is an Ecce Homo by Luis de Morales, known as El Divino. Morales is renowned for his religious-themed works, characterized by intense mysticism and a highly detailed style.

Another significant name in the collection is Raimundo de Madrazo, a prominent 19th-century Spanish painter celebrated for his mastery of portraiture and his refined style, influenced by academicism and Impressionism. His work Lady with a Parasol exemplifies his skill.

Also featured is Josep Cusachs i Cusachs, a 19th-century Spanish painter and academic recognized for his expertise in military and genre painting. His work Cavalry Regiment stands out for its realism and its detailed depiction of movement and grandeur.

The collection also includes Joaquín Sorolla, one of the most outstanding Spanish painters of the 20th century, known as the "master of light" for his ability to capture luminosity and color. His work Puerto de Pasajes is a magnificent example of his talent.
